The cinder cones of Sunset Crater National Monument are at peak now for color. Large globes of yellow snakeweed on the eastern cones and the largest Arizona Gilia bloom I have ever seen there. For best location information go to page 46-49 in our book, “Wild in Arizona, Photographing Arizona’s Wildflowers, A Guide to When, Where, and How” (available for purchase at www.wildinarizona.com/order.html)
